Organic Chicken Strips
Chicken nuggets, chicken strips, french fries....every kid's favorite, right?? But wait...all that fried food? How is that good for them?
Use our avocado oil to fry in and you have a healthy meal: avocado oil is high heat (500F) so it is safe to fry in and is a heart healthy fat. In fact, kids need good fats to nourish their brains and bodies and avocado oil is considered one of those good fats!
Besides, home made chicken strips are so much better for them and it takes only 20 minutes to prepare! make this for dinner and pack left overs for lunch the next day. They are good even cold!
What you will need:
1 lb of organic chicken breast
1 cup wheat flour (optional)
1 cup bread crumbs or almond meal
Salt and pepper to taste
Avocado oil for frying
Prep: cut the chicken breast into filets. Prepare three dishes: one with the beaten eggs, one with flour and one with bread crumbs or almond meal (your choice).
Add chicken strips first to the eggs, then roll in the flour and lastly roll in the bread crumbs.
Once you dipped the chicken strips in the eggs and breadcrumbs, heat the avocado oil in a pan. Once the oil is hot add chicken strips one by one and fry on low heat until golden brown.
Serve them for dinner with broccoli, fried plantains or any side you would like.
Or pack the left overs for lunch, they are perfect cold as well, served with pickles and fruits and veggies. You can steam broccoli and add it to their thermos for a warm side. These chicken strips are great warm or served cold with string cheese, tomatoes, carrots and fruits.
